This tournament is being held under the auspices of the Dubai Cricket Council and staged at the International Cricket Council Global Cricket Academy Oval ground. Kerala’s Sports Minister K.B Ganesh Kumar inaugurated the event in the presence of brand ambassadors India’s Test star Shantakumaran Sreesanth and film stars Suresh Gopi and Bhama on January 20 and will conclude on February 24.

DUBAI – In one of the biggest upsets in the Capital Kerala Premier League, Trotters Wayanad Highlanders stormed into the final, beating favourites CSS Alleppey Ripples in the semi-final at the ICC Global Cricket Academy ground on Tuesday night.
In the final on Friday, Wayanad will meet the winners of the second semi-final between Yogi Group Trissur Dynamites VS Dunes Kannur Veerans.
Alleppey had an unbeaten record in the KPL and they had entered the semi-final, topping the eight-team table.
But the unpredictable nature of Twenty20 cricket and a sterling show from Wayanad in the knockout game upset the calculations of CSS team.
Raziq Khan played the match-winning knock for his team with an all-round show.

Dubai: Trotters Wayanad Highlanders have peaked at the right time. They stunned Consolidated Shipping Services (CSS) Alleppey in the Capital Kerala Premier League semifinal at the International Cricket Council Global Cricket Academy Oval ground on Tuesday night.
Chasing a target of 150 runs set by Alleppey, Wayanad openers Raziq Khan and Amjad Ali played positively to put on 27 runs. Ali fell to Shehazad Manna but Sri Lankan international Dilhara Lokuhetteige then partnered Raziq and put on a 54 runs partnership.

DUBAI – A fine half century from Faizan Asif powered Yogi International Thrissur Dynamites to a six-wicket victory over Wedlock Malappuram Knights in a Capital-Kerala Premier League match at the ICC Global Cricket Academy on Tuesday night.
Yogi now share the second spot with Dunes Kannur in the eight-team tournament, being held under the auspices of the Dubai Cricket Council.

DUBAI – CSS-Alleppey maintained their dominance in the Capital-Kerala Premier League by posting their successive fifth victory on Sunday.
The team have won all five matches they have played and garnered 10 points to top the Twenty20 tournament, being held at the ICC Global Cricket Academy Grounds here.
On Sunday, Irfan Akram Haji’s all-round brilliance helped the CSS team to overcome a stiff challenge from Xpress Money-Farooq CC Calicut, who are yet to open their account in the tourney, under the auspices of Dubai Cricket Council.
Batting first, Alleppey got off to a poor start as both openers Asif Iqbal and captian Harish M fell quite early with the score reading 20 for two. Moiz Shahid showed excellent form as he sent back Shahzad Manna too, picking up his second wicket in the match.
With the score reading 3-32, Alleppey were staring at the possibility of their first defeat, but Irfan and Fayyaz Ahmed rescued the innings through a solid counter attack.
